Winter operating hours at Fort Vancouver National Historic Site will go into effect on Sunday, Nov. 1, in conjunction with the end of Daylight Saving Time.

The schedule for Fort Vancouver’s facilities will be standardized: They will be open Tuesdays through Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and closed on Sundays and Mondays. The locations include the reconstructed fort, Pearson Air Museum, and the soon-to-be-reopened Visitor Center.

The park grounds will remain open seven days a week from dawn until dusk. Events and activities for which permits have been issued will not be affected, and will continue seven days a week at sites throughout the national park, including the historic hangar at Pearson Air Museum, the bandstand on the historic Parade Ground and the Land Bridge trail.

The park has expanded its popular Lantern Tour series for Saturday evenings this winter; call 360-816-6244 for reservations.

The annual winter closure for the park’s McLoughlin House Unit in Oregon City, Ore., begins Sunday, Dec. 13; it reopens in February.
