WOODLAND — Steven B. Madsen has been named to fill a vacancy on the Woodland school board, the school district announced Friday.

Madsen, who has previously been on the board, will serve the two years remaining on the District 5 term left open by the resignation of Jeremy Stuart.

Madsen has one daughter attending Woodland schools. “My goal for the future of Woodland’s schools is to provide our kids with an educational experience that will prepare them for their future,” said Madsen in a statement released by the district. “In particular, I want to help maximize the value of the Career Center to provide all the resources possible to give our students clear direction for their professional lives following graduation.”

The school board had been set to appoint David L. Hahm Jr., but discovered he did not live in the appropriate director district.
