A man reportedly robbed at gunpoint a US Bank branch office at the Fred Meyer on Columbia House Boulevard just before 3 p.m. Tuesday.

The call was still active around 4:30 p.m., Vancouver Police Department spokeswoman Kim Kapp said, so officers were still investigating and information was limited.

The department said a Hispanic man described as about 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall, thin and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt entered the bank and produced a firearm to rob the branch. The man then left on foot.

Emergency radio traffic monitored at The Columbian described the gun as a semi-automatic weapon.

Kapp said the case has been forwarded on to the department’s major crime unit and the FBI, and investigators will be reviewing surveillance video from the store.

The police asked anyone with information that could help identify the suspect to contact Vancouver Police Detective Neil Martin at 360-487-7423 or neal.martin@cityofvancouver.us.
