Prep highlights: Union volleyball hands Camas first league loss of season

Union volleyball scored its biggest win of the season so far by handing Camas its first loss in 4A Greater St. Helens League play.

Brooke Mosier had 13 kills, eight aces and 19 digs to lead Union to a 3-1 win at home.

After winning the first set 26-24, Union took the second set 25-14.

Camas rebounded to win the third set 25-16, but Union won the match by taking the fourth set
25-20.

Camas (8-2, 7-1) falls into a tie atop the 4A GSHL with Battle Ground. The Papermakers beat the Tigers this season and the teams will face off again Oct. 22.

Union (5-4, 4-3) is tied with Skyview for third place. Hailey Haggard had 11 kills and Marie Simkins added 29 assists.

Keelie Leblanc had 11 kills and three aces to lead Camas.

Erika Cramer, Heritage girls soccer, scored both goals in a 2-0 win over Battle Ground.

Anika Pool, Hudson’s Bay girls soccer, assisted on both Eagles goals in a 3-2 loss to Mark Morris.

Evi Wilson, Columbia River volleyball, had 10 aces and nine kills in a 3-0 win over Kelso as River improved to 9-0 on the season.

MacKenzie Ellertson, King’s Way Christian girls soccer, had two goals and an assist in a 6-0 win over Kalama.

Cassie McKinney, Union girls cross country, won the race at Pacific Park in 19:28 over 5,000-meters in a win over Evergreen.

Emily Phelps, Fort Vancouver girls cross country, earned another winning, covering the 2.9-mile course in 18:06 at Fort Vancouver.

Brooke Van Sickle, Battle Ground volleyball, had 14 kills, 7 assists, 3 aces, 5 digs in a win over Mountain View.

Ryan Cibart, Heritage boys cross country, won on the 5,000-meter course on the LaCamas Heritage Trail in 16:45 in meet with Mountain View and Skyview.

Natalie Pederson, Seton Catholic volleyball, had 11 kills, 2 blocks, 8 digs, one ace and 12 assists in a win over Castle Rock.

Bella Forncrook, Heritage volleyball, had 11 digs and 5 aces in a win over Evergreen.

Savannah Craig, Mountain View girls cross country, won a 5-kilometer race in 19:02 as the Thunder beat Heritage and Skyview.

Ryan Cibart, Heritage boys cross country, won a three-team meet with a 5-kilometer time of 16:45. Heritage beat Skyview but Mountain View scored dual-meet wins over the Timberwolves and the Storm.

Alex Sanders, Union girls soccer, scored from a Cassidy Moe assist with about 13 minutes left to lift the Titans over Skyview at Kiggins Bowl.

Maddie Kemp, Camas girls soccer, had two goals and one assist in the Papermakers’ 5-0 win over Evergreen.
