WHITE SALMON — Private forest lands in western Klickitat County have been reopened in time for Saturday’s opening of deer hunting season.
“There may be a few fire closure signs still up inadvertently, but other than those lands the lands should be open according to standard posting guidelines,’’ said Nate Putnam, chief forester for SDS Lumber.
Industrial forest lands owned by a variety of companies closed to public access in July due to the dry conditions and high fire danger.
