Clark County — The Clark County council will hold a work session Wednesday on the preferred alternative of the Comprehensive Growth Management Plan update.

The work session is open to the public and is scheduled to run from 9 a.m. to noon, according to a news release.

The council will discuss planning assumptions, including the county’s population forecast.

Councilor David Madore, who earlier this year developed an alternative to the zoning plan targeted at rural properties, suggested at a recent council meeting that the county prepare for more population growth than originally planned, and also offered updated maps of his alternative.

The county is slated to approve its preferred alternative, or land-use plan, at its 10 a.m. regular hearing on Nov. 24.
