East Vancouver — The Veterans Court Board raised more than $4,500 for a covered picnic area at a cruise-in on Aug. 22 at Wal-Mart on Southeast 192nd Avenue. The picnic area will be built at the Mabry Work Center site across from the Clark County Veterans Community Garden. The garden was created specifically for veterans, and promotes self-reliance, physical activity, social interaction and contributes to the health and well being of veterans and others in need in our community. Recently more than 1,000 pounds of produce was donated to Wheels on Meals, Share and the Veterans Assistance Center from the garden.
