Letter: How are our teachers doing?

The Columbian
Published:

The Aug. 25 North County News story “How did our kids do? Standardized test scores are out” contained copious data on student evaluation and a justification of low scores due to students opting out. Did students in other areas of the state also opt out, and how did this affect their scores? I suspect school districts across the state experienced similar perfect storms.

Since some teachers refuse to correlate their performance with student test scores, I’d like to see this followed up with a report on teacher performance.
