Appeal of Klickitat County rezone case dismissed as moot

The Washington State Court of Appeals this week dismissed as moot a case surrounding a controversial rezone along the White Salmon River in Klickitat County.

In 2012, the county had approved a zoning change that affected more than 1,000 acres along the river. Environmental groups challenged the action and scored a victory in Clark County Superior Court in 2013. Klickitat County appealed, and the case eventually made its way to the state appellate court.

But in June, county commissioners voted to undo the disputed zone change. That made the case moot, and the appeals court declined to issue an advisory opinion on the matter.
