Clark County sheriff’s deputies arrested a driver after a chase from Orchards to the vicinity of the Interstate 5 Bridge.

Eric S. Potter, 21, is accused of driving a stolen car.

The incident began about 2:45 a.m. Friday when a deputy attempted to stop a Honda sedan after seeing it hit a concrete lane divider in the 9500 block of Northeast 117th Avenue.

Despite a damaged front left tire, the driver kept going. Deputies chased him from Orchards to downtown Vancouver, where he crashed into a light pole while attempting to enter I-5 southbound from Fifth Street.

A female passenger in the car was not arrested. She told deputies that Potter offered to stop and let her out during the pursuit, but she declined. Her name was not released.

Neither Potter nor the passenger was reported injured. Potter’s blood was drawn to determine if he should face a DUI charge.
