A Vancouver woman who allegedly assaulted and robbed a man early Sunday made a first appearance Monday in Clark County Superior Court. Vanessa Z. Delacruz, 21, appeared to face allegations of first-degree robbery and possession of a dangerous weapon stemming from the incident.

Shortly after 2:30 a.m., Delacruz and two males allegedly assaulted the victim in the 4500 block of Southeast Columbia Way. One of the suspects reportedly reached into the victim’s pants pocket and took his phone, according to a probable cause affidavit.

A witness said she saw Delacruz punching the victim in the face, court records said.

Police subsequently arrested Delacruz near Beech Street and Lewis Avenue. She was reportedly found with brass knuckles in her possession, the affidavit said. The other suspects were apparently not immediately found.
