Letter: Moving gives no license to cheat

Unbelievable, we have license cheats here in Vancouver? The Sept. 23 front page story reported “License cheats stung: State Patrol sting operation targets drivers with vehicles registered in Oregon but who live in Washington.”

Well, that certainly explains all those Oregon license plates at the grocery store at 9:30 a.m. every Sunday morning. Apparently, all those nice Oregonians are not driving all the way to Hazel Dell every weekend to shop at our stores and help bolster our economy. And it appears that the pretty white Hummer with the Oregon plates and the “My Honor Student goes to Camas High School” bumper sticker that I followed from Salmon Creek out to Camas is another imposter who most likely lives in Camas, Wash.

I’m sorry all you pretend Oregonians, but you need to pay your taxes, too. I look forward to hearing that you are doing just that.
