Letter: Pike should finish her term

The Clark County Republican Party asks us to write-in our vote for Rep. Liz Pike, R-Camas, a reluctant candidate for county council chair. I sense the machinations of the extremist duo David Madore and his equally challenged acolyte, Christian Berrigan.

My objections are numerous.

Pike didn’t stand for the position at primary election time. She touts $8 fantasy tolls on the long-gone Columbia River Crossing. She promises to get government off our backs but fails to tell us which office is causing us to reach for the liniment. She hates to pay a gas tax that has supported our roads for decades. She obfuscates when asked about raising teachers’ salaries.

I now feel more determined to vote for Mike Dalesandro.

Pike needs to finish her term as state representative, then enter the next primary. Good democracy demands elections, not crony write-in politics.
