Letter: Late entry dims view of Pike

By Mike Johnson, Vancouver

Though I have not voted for Rep. Liz Pike, R-Camas, I believed her to be an independent thinker and someone not lacking in confidence or self-esteem. However, her decision to jump at the opportunity to serve Clark County Councilor David Madore’s apparent scheme to rule Clark County by agreeing to a write-in candidacy for the council chair position has me rethinking this view of her. If she had jumped into the race on her own during the primary, that would be one thing. But by serving at what many believe to be Madore’s beck and call as a write-in candidate during the general election, she has shown a different side of herself that I find unflattering.
