The Skamania County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a single-car crash that sent a Camas man to the hospital with critical injuries Wednesday.

The crash was reported just after 9 a.m. on Department of Natural Resources Road 1200, about a mile north of Dougan Falls, Chief Criminal Deputy Pat Bond said. When emergency crews arrived, they found that a vehicle had crashed into a tree and a man was trapped inside, Bond said.

The driver, 29-year-old Aaron M. Hathaway, was taken by Life Flight to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, Bond said. Hathaway was listed in critical condition Wednesday afternoon.
