A toddler was taken to a hospital and discharged soon after following a three-car crash on Highway 503 north of Battle Ground on Friday afternoon.

According to the Washington State Patrol, Kasey N. Raisanen, 19, of Amboy was driving north on the highway about 2 miles north of Battle Ground around 2:30 p.m.

Two vehicles ahead of her slowed for traffic, the state patrol said, and she struck one, sending that vehicle into the third.

The crash totaled Raisanen’s 2015 Scion two-door and the vehicle she struck, a 2000 Dodge Durango. The driver in the SUV, Kerry Johnson, 52, of Amboy, was unhurt, state patrol said. So was the third driver, H.R. Jones, 71, of Yacolt; he was able to drive his 2010 Dodge pickup from the scene. The state patrol said everyone used the proper restraints.

A 1-year-old boy riding with Raisanen was taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center. The hospital said Friday evening that he had been discharged.

Raisanen will be cited for following too closely, troopers said.
