Timbers at Los Angeles Galaxy

Kickoff: 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the StubHub Center.

TV: Fox Sports 1. Radio: 750 AM/102.9 FM.

Records: The Timbers (1-2-1) started the weekend ninth in the West with 4 points; Los Angeles (2-1-1) entered the weekend fourth in the West with seven points.

Notable: Timbers coach Caleb Porter indicated this week there will be some tweaks to the lineup and/or formation following the disappointing 4-1 loss last Sunday at Orlando. The Timbers have fallen behind 2-0 in three consecutive games, meaning the defensive side of things is a good place to expect tweaks. Left back, where Jack Barmby struggled through his MLS debut at Orlando, is one spot to watch … Central defender Liam Ridgewell remains out with a hamstring injury. Also out with injuries are reserve midfielder Ben Zemanski and reserve fullback Andy Thoma. … Portland’s nine goals allowed is the most in the league through four games. … The Timbers 37 corner kicks earned was 11 more than any other team in the league entering the weekend. … The Galaxy is dealing with many early-season injuries, but one player expected to return for Sunday’s game in Mexican midfielder/forward Giovanni dos Santos, who has missed three games with a leg injury. Robbie Keane is out at least a month following knee surgery. Midfielder Steven Gerrard is not likely to be available. Among the big-name players added by the Galaxy in the offseason were former national team players Ashley Cole (England) and Nigel De Jong (Netherlands). … L.A. goalkeeper Dan Kennedy has been out since the season opener, but in three-plus games Eugene, Ore., native Brian Rowe has posted two shutouts and entered the week with a MLS-leading 0.67 goals against average. … The Galaxy leads the all-time series 6-4-4. Portland’s 5-2 win on Oct. 18 was the Timbers first over the Galaxy in Los Angeles. … The Galaxy visits Portland on July 23, the only other meeting between the clubs this season.

Viewing parties: The Timbers viewing party, open to ages 21 and older, is at the Mad Greek Deli, 1740 E. Burnside St. in Portland. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
