FC Dallas at Portland

Kickoff: 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Providence Park.

Tickets: Timbers.com. A limited number of seats remained on Tuesday afternoon.

TV: ROOT SPORTS. Radio: 750 AM/102.9 FM.

Records: Timbers 1-2-2, 5 points, ninth in the West; FC Dallas 3-1-2, 11 points, third in the West.

Notable: This is a rematch of last season’s Western Conference finals, which the Timbers won 5-3 on total goals including 3-1 at home. … Timbers coach Caleb Porter said it is important for his team to build on a solid performance in Sunday’s 1-1 draw at the Galaxy, even with injuries sidelining key players. Darlington Nagbe (ankle), Liam Ridgewell (hamstring), Dairon Asprilla (foot), Ben Zemanski (groin) and Andy Thoma (knee) are all out for this match. … Veteran midfielder Ned Grabavoy is the likely replacement for Nagbe in an attacking midfield position, though attacking options include Darren Mattocks, Jack McInerney and Jack Barmby. This is the second of three games in seven days for the Timbers, though Porter downplayed the need to rest players either Wednesday or on Saturday when San Jose visits Providence Park.

• Maxi Urruti returns to Portland for the first time since the Timbers celebrated their MLS Cup title in December. He had scored thre goals and taken 19 shots in his first six games as FCD’s striker.

“Obviously you know some of his tendencies which you like to think helps,” The Timbers Jack Jewsbury said. “But obviously he’s going to be buzzing around here and be looking to sneak one on us. He’s a guy that makes great runs.” … After winning three of its first four matches, FCD has tied its last two games, both at home. Argentine playmaker Mauro Diaz missed both of those matches with an undisclosed injury. He has a league best four assists in four games played this season. FC Dallas has not won at Portland (0-6-4).
