Prep highlights: Stars of the day for April 23

Stars of the day

Kedrick Johnson, Hockinson boys track and field, was selected the outstanding athlete of the meet at the Bruin Invite in White Salmon. Johnson won the 100 meters (11.68), long jump (22-4) and triple jump (42-1¾).

Antoine Wilder, Evergreen boys track and field, won the 110 hurdles (15.68) and 300 hurdles (41.14) at the Kalama Twilight meet.

Addison Newell, Stevenson girls track and field, won the 200 meters (28.94) and long jump (15-5) at the Bruin Invite in White Salmon.

Erykah Weems, Hudson’s Bay girls track and field, won the 100 hurdles (15.86) and 300 hurdles (46.44) at the Kalama Twilight meet.

Abby Runyon and Hailey Runyon, Hockinson softball. Abby struck out 12 Black Hills batters, and Hailey was 2 for 3 with a home run and three RBI in the 11-5 win.

Maddie McClelland, Union softball, hit two home runs and drove in three runs in an 11-10 loss at Sandy, Ore.

Carlos Rodriguez, Fort Vancouver soccer, scored both goals for the Trappers in a 2-2 tie against Centralia.

Riley Benson, Columbia River soccer, scored two of the Chieftains goals in a 3-0 win against W.F. West.
