Izzy Parkin homered to tie the game, then Columbia River won on an error as the Chieftains rallied past Kelso 5-4 in a 3A Greater St. Helens League softball game Thursday.
River trailed 4-1 after four innings before the Chieftains scored single runs in the fifth and sixth innings.
Parkin led off the bottom of the seventh with a solo home run to left, tying the game at 4-4.
Jadyn Schofield and Cassie Grigg followed by drawing walks. Megan Figgins then attempted to sacrifice the runners over, but a Kelso error allowed Schofield score the winning run.
The victory maintained Columbia River’s lead in the 3A GSHL. The Chieftains (5-1) lead Prairie (4-2) by a game.
Emma Klundt struck out 10 in earning th win.

• Magnus Kofoed, Columbia River soccer, scored two goals to help the Chieftains beat Prairie 3-2.
• Christian Thyron, Prairie soccer, scored both goals for the Falcons in a 3-2 loss to Columbia River.
• Brennan Lamoreaux and Sebastian Martinez, Woodland soccer, each had a goal and an assist in a 4-2 win over Washougal that clinched the Beavers’ first soccer district playoff berth in the 2A classification.
