Inattention caused a rear-end crash Friday morning north of Battle Ground that sent two drivers to the hospital, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Estera Giurculete, 25, of Vancouver, was driving north on Highway 503, according to the state patrol. At about 11:20 and 2 miles north of Battle Ground, she struck the rear of Luke M. Hanson’s car as he had stopped to make a left turn onto Northeast 142nd Avenue.

Hanson, 17, of Battle Ground, and Giurculete were transported to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center for their injuries. Both had been discharged by that afternoon, according to the hospital.

The state patrol said inattention caused the crash, and added Giurculete was cited for driving too fast for the conditions.
