Hazel Dell — For the 24th year, St. John Lutheran Church’s youth group traveled to the San Juan Islands for the Ken LeCount Memorial Bike Trip, named in honor of LeCount, who helped start the tradition and biked with the group each year until his health prohibited it.

Eleven members of the youth group went on the trip with six adults, and the purpose of the trip was to step away from daily life and focus on creation, stewardship and fellowship. To learn more about the youth group, visit www.stjohnlc.com.

The group took the ferry from Anacortes, camped at Spencer Spit State Park on Lopez Island, biked Lopez, Orcas and/or Shaw and the San Juan Islands. The group biked up to 160 miles.
