Letter: Herrera Beutler harms middle class

Our representative in Congress, Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Camas, continually posts negative information about the Affordable Care Act in her government-paid-for propaganda to get her constituents on her side in eliminating it.

I have yet to hear an alternative from her. Actually, if truth be known, she has none. She has a plan to help a few poor children, which is great, but their parents get sick, too. People will die because of no preventive care. Her conservative ideology that she adheres to fights tooth and nail to not allow the government to help the working poor. What a shameful position.

The fierce aggression against the Affordable Care Act is driven by big-moneyed individuals and corporations. Her donors. The middle class is shrinking; she and her cronies in Congress are enabling that. The Affordable Care Act has its flaws but it should be fixed, not eliminated. Enough of this attack on the poor to enhance the wealthy. It has been well-documented how her government-financed gold-standard health insurance helped her in the last few years. She makes over $170,000 a year plus big-time benefits. No health care for the poor? This is immoral.

She won’t have my vote.
