Police said that the driver of a Ford Focus appeared to have failed to yield to a box truck in a crash Wednesday in Battle Ground that sent five people to the hospital.

A 2012 Ford Focus driven by Louis Langos, 80, of Gresham, Ore., was making a left turn onto North Parkway Avenue from Northwest Onsdorff Boulevard and crashed into a southbound box truck, Battle Ground Police Department spokeswoman Bonnie Gilberti said.

Louis Langos and two passengers inside the Focus, Janet Langos, 80, of Gresham, and Joan Holmes, 61, of La Center, were taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center. They were all listed in satisfactory condition.

Fire officials said that the occupants of the box truck, 21-year-old Jose Vazquez Macias, of Renton, and Michael Mugweru, 50, of Vancouver, were taken to area hospitals. Their conditions were not available.

Gilberti said that police have not made any citations in the investigation.
