PORTLAND — Seattle-based Restaurants Unlimited Inc. announced Friday it was abandoning its 1 percent “living wage” surcharge at Oregon locations.

The surcharge came after the Oregon Legislature started stepping up the state’s minimum wage this year. By 2023, it will reach $14.75 per hour in Portland, $13.50 in urban counties and $12.50 in rural counties.

Restaurant Unlimited’s Portland holdings include Portland City Grill, Henry’s Tavern and Portland Seafood Company.
