A Ridgefield man was arrested after he allegedly stabbed another man in the face early Thursday morning, according to police.

Officers responded to 310 Simons Street in Ridgefield at about 2:45 a.m., according to the Ridgefield Police Department, and police found the victim, Justin Hobbs, 35, with a stab wound to his face.

The investigation revealed that Hobbs and Thomas Quant, 49, both of whom live at the Simons Street house, were arguing when family members attempted to intervene, police said. Quant felt threatened, police said, and armed himself with a kitchen knife. As the scuffle continued, Quant stabbed Hobbs with the knife, police said.

Quant fled before officers arrived but was found a short time later with the assistance of a police dog, police said. He was arrested on suspicion of first-degree assault and fourth-degree domestic violence assault.

Hobbs was taken to a hospital. His condition was not available.
