Jacobi, McKellen’s ‘Vicious’ won’t be coming back to TV

You have questions. I have some answers.

I am wondering if you have any info regarding “Vicious,” the British comedy with Derek Jacobi and Ian McKellen? We have found nothing one way or the other. We so enjoyed watching these two — a bit campy, but fun.

The series with Jacobi and McKellen as a longtime couple is done. A special finale aired in June.

A few years ago, we absolutely loved watching the TV show “Smash.” The Broadway show about Marilyn Monroe that the TV show revolved around was outstanding! We are wondering if they are planning on actually making a Broadway production of that play and tour the country at some time.

There has been talk about staging “Bombshell,” the musical-within-the-musical that aired on NBC for two rocky seasons in 2011-13. Cast members from the show reunited in 2015 for a charity concert, and that was soon followed by a network statement that “we’re thrilled to be able to keep the dream alive as we work towards bringing ‘Bombshell’ to theatre audiences.” But I have not seen any updates.

I am hooked on “The Last Alaskans.” I have seen season 2 and 3 but cannot find season 1. I would prefer to find it for free or on media I already pay for. I have Netflix and the top tier of DirecTV. Can you help me out?

Yes and no. I have found that first season of the Discovery series, though not on the services you mentioned. Instead, it showed up on Hulu, Amazon Video and iTunes, in each case with a fee attached.

I have watched repeats of “NCIS,” “Murder She Wrote,” “Walker, Texas Ranger,” “Matlock” and many more so many times, I know the lines before they come. However, I have not seen any repeats of “Magnum, P.I.” What’s the possibility of this program being repeated?

Since its original run on CBS in 1980-88, the detective series starring Tom Selleck has been seen in repeat — and still is. You can find it via Starz and Cozi TV. If you are not familiar with Cozi, it is one of the vintage-TV services which appear as stand-alone channels on some program providers and as digital companions to broadcast stations. Magnum is also on DVD.

Why isn’t Cristina Ferrare the host of Hallmark’s “Home and Family” on the show any longer?

Because the network replaced her with Debbie Matenopoulos. The change, announced in June, was explained this way by Ferrare in an online statement: “It’s really very simple, Home and Family will have a season 5 which I am so happy for and the Network decided that they want a new co-host and that will be Debbie. She will do a great job!”

Ferrare, meanwhile, has been keeping busy on social media, including Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
