Letter: Keep Herrera Beutler in Congress

I couldn’t be more impressed with Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler. There have been a few letters to the editor attacking her for being “against middle class,” with no substance behind the claims. Meanwhile, Herrera Beutler hosts job fairs where real people can find employment.

They claim she’s a rubber stamp Republican. Nonsense. She’s passed bills with Democrats from all over our region on nonpartisan matters, like supporting fishermen and improving bus service. She broke from other Republicans to help end the government shutdown in 2013. As long as she continues to deliver results, we should continue to send her back to Congress.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
