Karen Rubino resigned from the Washougal School District’s board of directors, effective Sept. 27.

Rubino, who was elected to the board in 2012, resigned because of work commitments in Seattle, making it difficult for her to attend board meetings and spend the volunteer time required for the position.

The district is looking for applicants to fill the position. Applicants must be registered voters and reside within District 4. The director will serve until the next regular school district election, Nov. 17, 2017, when a successor will be elected for the unexpired term ending Dec. 31, 2019.

Applications are due Sept. 16. For more information about the position and residency requirements, contact Cassi Marshall at cassi.marshall@washougalsd.org or 360-954-3005. To view a map of district boundaries, visit www.washougal.k12.wa.us/map-of-board-zones.
