Oral surgery group donates backpacks to students

Esther Short — Starting in June, the Vancouver Oral Surgery Group organized a back-to-school drive for families who have trouble paying for school supplies, donating a backpack with school supplies for every wisdom tooth evaluation referral received from area dental professionals. The group set a 100-bag goal for the 10-week drive, and more than doubled it, donating 250-plus bags to students in Camas, Washougal, Woodland, Vancouver and Evergreen school districts. Employees at the group met in late August to stuff the bags full of crayons, pencils, notebooks and other items.
