Letter: Thanks for community support

All of us at I Like Comics in Vancouver would like to extend a huge amount of thanks and gratitude for the community support of our fundraiser last weekend.

As seen in the lovely articles in The Columbian, we were working to raise money to pay for a much-needed wheelchair for a comic artist. Through the massive amount of support from the whole comic community here (and from around the nation, to be honest), we were able to exceed that goal and donate a large amount of money to The Hero Initiative, a fund to help with medical bills for those who work in comics.

This is not the first time the community has come together to help out others, yet we are still humbled and awed by the care and support that is always shown from “comic people.” From the artists and writers, who gave their time, to the community members who supported this, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We are grateful to live in such an amazing place.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
