The Clark County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash that occurred Tuesday morning in Hazel Dell.

Deputies were called to the 4000 block of Northeast Minnehaha Street just after 6:15 a.m. for the collision.

The driver of a red truck was on his way to work, traveling east on Minnehaha Street. He began to turn left into a business driveway and entered the path of a westbound silver Honda sedan, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

An man who was a passenger in the Honda was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and a rear passenger of the Honda were taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center with injuries that were not life-threatening, the sheriff’s office said. Police also said that the Honda had been reported stolen.

The remains of the man who died were sent to the Clark County Medical Examiner.

The sheriff’s office said that excessive speed of the Honda may have been a cause in the crash. Detectives with the agency’s traffic unit are investigating.
