The person killed in a rollover crash north of Camas on Saturday night was identified as a Vancouver woman.

Alina Pozhar, 32, was a passenger in a 2006 BMW 320i that crashed just after 8 p.m. Saturday, Clark County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Dennis Pritchard said.

Arthur Shchukin, 30, of Vancouver was driving north on Northeast Cavitt Road when he lost control of the car, Pritchard said.

The vehicle left the roadway and hit a large evergreen tree on the passenger-side front door, he said. Pozhar was pronounced dead at the scene, the sheriff’s office said.

Shchukin was injured in the crash and taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, where he is listed as in satisfactory condition.

Pritchard said that excessive speed and alcohol are believed to be contributing factors in the crash. He said that no arrests have been made pending the completion of the investigation, which includes a toxicology report.
