Lacamas Lake has been stocked with 9,840 rainbow trout. Horseshoe Lake at Woodland has been planted with 30 steelhead, weighing 6 to 10 pounds.

Rowland Lake in Klickitat County also has some large trout still available from the Black Friday stocking.

Water conditions for winter steelhead fishing are good on the Cowlitz and North Fork of the Lewis rivers, but still a bit high in the East Fork of the Lewis and Washougal rivers.

The Washougal was at 2,500 cubic feet per second on Wednesday. Streamflows of around 1,600 to 1,800 are ideal for angling.

Angler sampling from the Washington and Oregon departments of Fish and Wildlife:

Cowlitz — Thirty-five bank anglers with one adult coho and one jack coho released; six boaters with no catch. Last week, three winter steelhead returned to Cowlitz Salmon Hatchery. (WDFW)

Streamflow at Mayfield Dam on Wednesday was a manageable 8,610 cubic feet per second.

Mid-Columbia — The Dalles pool, 10 bank rods with two steelhead kept and two released. (ODFW)

John Day pool, three boaters with one steelhead released; two boaters with two walleye kept. (ODFW)
