The Board of Natural Resources agreed to transfer 81 acres of state trust land north of Camas to the Camas School District for future school considerations.

The site, which, was listed as suitable for a school site in a 2008 legislative study, is located north of Northeast 28th Street at the corner of 28th and Northeast 232nd Avenue. The two sides agreed on $1.13 million in compensation for the district to pay for the parcel of land.

Camas is looking for ways to deal with growth in the district. On Tuesday, the district will put a $120 million bond issue up for vote, part of which will be used for a standalone high school and new elementary school, if passed.
