Letter: Benton makes right move for career

By Brenda Gardner, Vancouver

I was not surprised Sen. Don Benton, R-Vancouver, decided not to run for state senator again. He may be one of the rudest and most vulgar senators in the state, but he is not stupid. There is no way he was going to win. Thank goodness Clark County is finally getting rid of or at least tempering a few of our biggest right-wing nut jobs. It almost feels like some common sense is coming back into politics. Will wonders never cease?
