SEATTLE — A man who was shot in the face on a King County Metro bus in south Seattle had previously been paid $42,000 by the city after he was kicked by a police officer.

The Seattle Times reports that 22-year-old D’Vontaveous Hoston was shot in the face by one or two men while riding the bus on Wednesday.

An 18-year-old suspect was arrested for investigation of assault after the incident. He has not been formally charged. Police are still searching for a second suspect.

Hoston made headlines in 2010 after a Seattle Police officer kicked him in a Belltown convenience store. The incident was captured on surveillance video. In 2012, the city agreed to pay $42,000.
