The Gresham Police Department identified three men arrested in connection with a homicide who led law enforcement officers on a high-speed chase from Portland, through Clark County and ending in Cowlitz County on Friday.

Rony Celis, 23, of Renton, Charles Moimoi, 20, of Seatac and Clayton Harrel, 18, of Des Moines were arrested and booked into the Cowlitz County Jail on charges related to a homicide in Gresham, Ore., according to a news release.

At 2:33 p.m. Friday, Gresham officers responded to a report of a man shot near the intersection of S.E. Stark Street and S.E. 174th Ave. in the Portland suburb. Officers arrived and found the man dead. The suspects had fled the scene.

Shortly after, Portland police spotted a brown Cadillac matching the suspects’ vehicle heading northbound on Interstate 5. Police chased the suspects into Washington at about 3 p.m., topping speeds of 100 miles an hour up into Cowlitz County.

A Cowlitz County deputy put down spike strips across I-5 near Kelso, and a Washington State Patrol Trooper stopped the vehicle using a pursuit intervention technique, or PIT, maneuver to ram and stop the vehicle.

The victim’s name has not yet been released. It’s unknown if the incident is gang-related. Anyone with information on the case is urged to call Gresham police at 503-618-2719.
