Letter: Let Evergreen levy expire

By Don Yingling, Vancouver
Published: February 6, 2016, 5:59am

The imposition or collection of funds by Evergreen Public Schools levy through property tax assessments should be canceled. The Washington state Legislature is responsible for providing the needed funds for education and should accept this responsibility as directed by the Washington State Supreme Court to provide adequate funding for grades K through 12. Failure to do so is costing the state $100,000 per day in fines. In the meantime, let the 2012 levy expire. We don’t need three more years of levies for education.
