A Beaverton, Ore., man who was found in a Vancouver Target store after hours last month was ordered Friday to spend three months in jail.

Blane Gibbens, 25, pleaded guilty to attempted second-degree burglary and second-degree identity theft. According to court records, Gibbens stole the identity of Jordan David Miller, who was previously reported as having committed the crime.

Vancouver police were called to Target on Fourth Plain Boulevard the night of Jan. 20 after a report that employees found a man in the storage area after the store closed.

Police said the burglar was scrambling to find an exit and then made it outside. He was later found in a taxi in the store’s parking lot.

Gibbens took responsibility for his action. “What I did was my own wrongdoing,” he said.
