Clark College’s eighth annual Dr. Seuss book drive will turn King Elementary School kindergartners into book owners.

Now through Feb. 29 community members are invited to purchase copies of “The Cat in the Hat” by Dr. Seuss for $6.85 each plus tax. Books can be purchased at the bookstore on campus or at www.clarkbookstore.com. A nameplate in each book will recognize the donor.

Bookstore volunteers will deliver the books and read to students March 2, known as Read Across America Day. The day commemorates the birthday of Dr. Seuss, whose full name was Theodor Seuss Geisel.

The bookstore hopes to provide 85 copies of the book. Over the past seven years, the Clark College Bookstore has helped provide more than 1,100 books to local kindergartners.

The bookstore is in Gaiser Hall, 1933 Fort Vancouver Way. Driving directions and parking maps are at www.clark.edu/maps. For details, call Marti Earhart at 360-992-2261.
