Man struck by train in Washougal identified; investigation continues

The Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the man found dead along the train tracks in Washougal on Saturday as Jacob Ronald Kearns of Washougal.

The office’s investigation found that he was hit by the train and his death was an accident. Kearns was 24.

A passing train crew found Kearns’ body in the railroad right of way between 20th and 24th streets around 7 a.m.

The Washougal Police Department said an investigation into his death is ongoing.
