Cascade Highlands — Beacock Music held a monthlong pet food drive this past month to benefit the nonprofit organization Furry Friends.

Furry Friends was established in Vancouver in 1999 and operates as a no-kill cat rescue and adoption organization.

Everyone who works for Furry Friends does so on a volunteer basis, and they rely heavily on community support and donations to stay afloat. The food drive was organized by Lynette Jensen, education center director of Beacock Music.

Over the span of the drive, more than 300 pounds of food and litter were collected. Cleaning supplies and cat toys were also donated.
