Boys basketball: Hockinson 73, Hudson’s Bay 61

Ry Paulsen scored 22 points on 9-of-9 shooting and Kedrick Johnson delivered a big dunk down the stretch as the Hawks earned their first 2A GSHL win.

“We came into this one 0-4 in league, and we needed to get a win,” Hockinson coach Manny Melo said. “We came out hot, shared the ball and played some great team defense.

“Kedrick Johnson sparked us toward the end with a huge dunk. The whole place went wild.”

Kinai Kiyokawa had 15 points for the Hawks. Quadrese Teague led Bay with 14 points.
