A Vancouver man who allegedly fired a gun multiple times outside a bar in the Bagley Downs neighborhood was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident, according to court records.
DeAngelo J. Johnson, 28, made a first appearance Wednesday in Clark County Superior Court on suspicion of drive-by shooting stemming from the early Tuesday morning incident.
Vancouver police were dispatched to the QuarterDeck Bar, 4300 E. Fourth Plain Blvd., at about 1 a.m. for a report of a weapons disturbance, and while at the scene found .40 caliber bullet casings, according to a probable cause affidavit filed in Superior Court.
A bouncer at the bar had kicked Johnson out following a physical altercation that involved about 10 people. Johnson then went to his vehicle to get a handgun and loaded it, saying “come at me.” The bouncer yelled “weapon” and told everyone who was in the parking lot to get inside the bar. Multiple people ran toward the door, while Johnson fired at least two rounds into the air, the affidavit said.
