Freshman Ahna Burney had 18 points and Lexi Burney added eight points and 15 rebounds as Evergreen rallied to beat the Tigers.

“Battle Ground played a box-and-one on her,” Evergreen coach Jay Foreman said. “For a freshman to adjust to having a box-and-one on her and still score 18, that’s a good thing.”

Lexi Burney had three rebound baskets in the third quarter as Evergreen tied the game 30-30.

“We got off to our typical bad start,” Foreman said. “But then we pulled ourselves together, cut into the lead and never looked back.”

Evergreen held Battle Ground to two field goals in the second half.

Kylie Smith had 13 points and Grace Russell added 12 for the Tigers.
