I’d like to alert honest gun owners that influential legislators are trying to pull the rug out from under us. House Bill 2354, sponsored by Rep. Jim Moeller, D-Vancouver, would ban possession, purchase, sale, transfer and manufacture of any gun that the state government defines as an assault weapon.
Another dangerous bill that would rip the Constitution in two is HB 1857, proposed by Rep. Laurie Jinkins, D-Tacoma. This bill would allow a family member or cop to take away a person’s firearms without due process. Another is HB 1747 by Rep. Ruth Kagi, D-Lake Forest Park, which would penalize you if, according to the state, your guns and ammunition aren’t stored correctly.
We authorized the state to require that all guns sold, traded or loaned go through a federal licensed dealer. This whetted the antis’ appetite for more gun controls.
Call the Legislature at 800-562-6000 and oppose these proposed laws. Address to the governor, as he is anti-gun. We gun owners are outnumbered by the antis in Seattle; our only chance to prevail is to out-muscle them.
