Magenta Theater’s much-celebrated move five blocks up Main Street from a tight, inconvenient space to a larger, friendlier one has gone smoothly — mostly.

But a run of concerts at Magenta this weekend has been canceled because “a few last permits have not been finalized yet,” marketing specialist and board member Francine Raften said Thursday afternoon. Specifically, the sprinkler and sprinkler-monitoring systems are not ready yet, she said.

Popular local bands Fadin’ by 9 and Misty Mamas were to perform on Saturday night and Sunday afternoon. Those concerts will have to be rescheduled, Raften said. In the meantime, everyone who already purchased a ticket should have been refunded on Thursday night via PayPal, she said.

Raften said this should not affect the Feb. 12 opening of “The Women,” Magenta’s first show in its new home at 1108 Main St.
