Clark men start 2nd half strong with win at Lane

No. 1 Lane women's team tops Clark

The Clark College men’s basketball team started the second half of NWAC South region play much like the first half — with a win over Lane College.

Bryan Berg scored a game-high 27 points on 10 of 15 shooting as the Penguins increased its lead in the South region with an 89-74 victory Saturday in Eugene.

Clark (17-4, 8-1 South) has a two-game advantage over Lane (18-4, 6-3) and Clackamas (14-8, 6-3) in the standings.

Darrius Mathis scored 19 points and had six steals, David Baze had 16 points and a team-high nine rebounds, and Aubrey Stephens had 13 points. (Click here for complete boxscore)

Clark outrebounded Lane 42-34, and had 14 points off turnovers.

WOMEN: Lane 87, Clark 43 — The NWAC top-ranked Titans remained undefeated with two players recording double-doubles and dominating the boards.

Caylee Newsom’s 10 points led Clark (13-8, 5-4) in scoring.

Jordan Kimbrough was among the Lane (22-0, 9-0) leaders with 15 points and 16 rebounds, and Shelby Snook and 17 points and 10 assists. Bre DuBois lead all scorers with 18 points. (Click here for complete boxscore)
