PORTLAND — The first Stumptown Coffee shop is now open at Portland International Airport. The Portland brand’s new owner, Peet’s Coffee, also opened a new shop.

Stumptown is located in the South Concourse lobby — the coffee chain’s first presence at the airport. It officially opened July 1, serving hot cups of Portland’s signature brew to thousands of travelers.

Peet’s is in Concourse D. It also opened July 1.

Portland International Airport is also supposed to get an outpost of Portland Roasting Coffee this year.

For years, Starbucks and a denatured Coffee People were the only coffee vendors available, a clash with Portland’s growing reputation as one of the best coffee cities in America.

Stumptown opened in Portland in 1999 and has since expanded throughout the country. It sold to Peet’s last year, after being owned by a private equity firm for four years.
